The ARCONE controller offers with its Ethernet interface the communication link between the control level and the field level of the ARCON measurement and control system. Additionally to the interfacing of Ethernet and the H-Bus ARCONE offers the communication with two further CAN busses. In this way ARCONE interfaces the control level with the ARCON systems on three CAN busses. The ARCONE controller also offers the creation of CAN sub-busses, as it is shown in the example system configuration. See CAN1 on "Antriebsstrang": The ARCONE controller is the interface to a new sub bus. A mouse click on this controller will in the "PMS System Configurator" open and display all its sub busses.
Another important task of ARCONE is the creation of a firewall for the ARCON system. Via 32-Bit access codes the control level gets access rights to the ARCON system. In this way the access rights to especially the IO data and calculated data of all ARCON controllers are controlled. Hacker attacks are prevented by well tested algorithmns and ARCONE in case of an emergency completely blocks the Ethernet interface. The autark ARCON system will continue to run in full realtime speed without any constraints, what considerably contributes to the functional safety of the ARCON system.
Every ARCONE controller also fulfills the task of a DTC masters. Every ARCON ECU in the background copies its DTC error memory to the ARCONE, which is placed a field level higher. In this way all DTC error memories of the ARCON system are automatically copied to the ARCONE controller, which is connected to Ethernet interface to the control level. By entering the correct access code a system on the control level has all rights to read out the DTC error memory of the complete ARCON system.
ARCONE itself has no sensor or actor interfaces, but it has reading and writing access to all data on the connected ARCONA und ARCOND controllers via the H-Bus and the additional two CAN busses. An ARCONE controller can run software for for example superordinated application tasks.
